We had a marvellous meal last night, the Salad du Plan was simple perfection, the pork main course was subtle and delicious and the desert was unforgettable. Add to this a relaxed atmosphere and super friendly owners, I have no hesitation recommending this reasonably priced restaurant.

The food is delicious, guess it's the best place in St. Hippolyte. We had to wait quite long for our dessert, but it was really good :)

We were just driving by at lunch time, saw the signs (Restaurant) so just by chance with our lack of French we received a friendly we were just driving by at lunch time saw the signe (Restaurant)so just by chance went in, A friendly welcome and seated, looking through the menu saw veggie option, we were brought a beautiful starter followed with an even nicer main, but while we were eating that the next tables sweets arrived and my friend said I am having one of those, meringue and chestnut ice cream,wow, one of the best meals we have had at a really great price, thanks Andy Thorne.

As a francophile I have to be careful that I am not blinded by enthusiasm and good-will. However, praise where it is due. The auberge/hotel is a sympathetically renovated building from the 19th century. Upon our arrival, we received a very warm welcome and were shown straight to our room. We were immediately impressed by the standard of our first floor accommodation and were delighted to find it had its own terrace/balcony. A fan and the terrace door provided adequate ventilation of our room. The restaurant's breakfast and evening menu were tempting and tasty. The auberge is well-situated in terms of sight-seeing, access to sporting activities, walks etc. The staff were more than willing to help us with information if they could. Screened by a thick hedge, the auberge is next to a roundabout with a low to moderate amount of traffic, but this never really disturbed us. All in all, I would highly recommend l'Auberge Cigaloise to anyone who enjoys a informal or unpretentious stay and wants great value for their money.
